Zumpano Design and Construction manages and builds four to ten projects per year, based out of our office in Akron, Ohio. The projects have ranged from $200,000 to $10 million, and from 1,000 to 45,000 square feet.
The company is known within the construction industry for quality, innovative design, and the capability to construct complex residential and commercial projects. On six separate occasions, the company has earned the distinction of having been voted Builder of the Year by local peers (in 2001, 2007, 2009, 2014, 2021 and 2022).
No two projects are alike. The company's mission is to create relational environments -- places that increase your awareness and your appreciation of their surroundings and enhance your enjoyment and utility of those special places, at home or at work.
The company's low overhead and purchasing power combine to produce a high value. Our projects tend to the middle range of construction costs, not the highest, and not the lowest. We tightly manage and value-engineer every project. The result is a superb value for a company with decades of experience.
Fred Zumpano is a life long resident of the Greater Akron area. A graduate of Kent State's School of Architecture and Environmental Design, Fred has owned the design-build construction firm that was originally started by his father in 1960.
His interest in housing has been a life long passion, both in his work life and volunteer life. He has served as President and long time board member of two housing organizations, the Homebuilders Association Serving Summit and Portage Counties, the leading trade organization serving the construction industry, and Rebuilding Together Northeastern Ohio, a non profit dedicated to providing housing repairs to low income elderly, veterans and disabled populations.
Fred lives in Akron with his wife Renee. They have two children, Michael, an architect, and Michelle, a registered nurse.
We employ a staff of people who bring a wide range of construction management experience to your project. We work with, by invitation, a selected group of thirty to fifty subcontractors and vendors, each one right-sized to your project.
